What is Manual Therapy?
Manual therapy is a hands-on approach used by healthcare professionals to treat musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. It involves techniques, such as manipulation and mobilization, to improve movement, reduce pain, and enhance overall function. This therapy aims to promote healing by addressing the underlying causes of discomfort, ultimately leading to improved quality of life for patients. Manual therapy can be an effective complement to other treatment methods, facilitating a holistic approach to health and wellness.

What is Plant Medicine?
Plant medicine has been used for centuries, throughout many diverse cultures in history. Our connection to plant medicines has been altered, largely by regulatory and legal bodies. However, with Canada being part of a group of countries to legalize historically illegal plants, we are coming into an age where clear, up front information on herbs and herbal practices is paramount. I am here to assist you in your journey.
Why should I consider incorporating Plant Medicine into my wellness routine?
The addition of plant medicine supports adds to your wellness treatment in the following ways:
1. Deeper relaxation for sensitive patients
2. Decrease in inflammation without analgesics
3. Plant medicine connects with receptors in your body to increase the feeling of balance system wide
How often should I schedule a treatment?
Massage therapy can be safely and effectively applied as often as weekly if we are working on a specific acute pain issue. However, that frequency will typically decrease to every 4-6 weeks for regular healthy muscle maintenance. There is no thing as too much massage.
Why is hydration so important?
In Alberta, and particularly in Calgary, it is a very dry climate and the exposure to higher altitudes, chinook winds and temperature swings hydration is the base need for everyone in the prairies. Our daily activities can increase the amount of dehydration in our bodies. Everything from our morning cup of coffee, our afternoon run or that energy drink your drinking to get through the day and the wine at dinner. A massage can really move your bloodflow increasing the need for extra hydration ESPECIALLY post massage. This will ward off a lot of common post massage experiences of tenderness or feeling head achey as the latter usually occurs when the patient is already dehydrated and not adding the necessary water.
