An RMT of 25 years I have an extensive background in working with people and their pain cycles. Through the use of Myofascial release, manual therapy, massage and plant medicine Life Massage aims to get you into a pain free lifestyle through education, support and physical therapies.

What is therapeutic massage?

Therapeutic Massage is a specialized form of bodywork that employs a variety of manual techniques designed to manipulate the soft tissues of the body, including muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia. The primary goal of this practice is to alleviate discomfort and tension that often arises from repetitive strain injuries, chronic pain, or stress-related conditions. By focusing on the specific areas of the body that are affected by these issues, therapeutic massage aims to restore balance and promote overall well-being.

Support during therapeutic massage can encompass a wide range of hands-on techniques. These may include traditional methods such as Swedish massage, which utilizes long, flowing strokes to promote relaxation and improve circulation, or deeper techniques like deep tissue massage that target the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. Each approach is tailored to the individual's needs, ensuring that the treatment is effective and comfortable.

In addition to manual manipulation, therapeutic massage can also incorporate myofascial stretching, a technique that focuses on releasing restrictions in the fascia, the connective tissue that surrounds muscles and organs. This stretching helps to improve flexibility, enhance range of motion, and alleviate tension throughout the body. By addressing the fascial system, practitioners can often uncover and treat underlying issues that may not be immediately apparent through muscle work alone.

Moreover, some clients may utilize cupping therapy as part of their treatment process. Cupping involves placing specialized cups on the skin to create suction, which can help to increase blood flow to the affected areas, reduce inflammation, and promote healing. This technique can be particularly beneficial for individuals experiencing tightness or pain in specific muscle groups, as it aids in the release of built-up tension and enhances the overall effectiveness of the massage.

Overall, therapeutic massage is a holistic approach to health that not only addresses physical discomfort but also contributes to mental and emotional well-being. By integrating various techniques and tools, therapists can provide a comprehensive treatment that caters to the unique needs of each client, ultimately fostering a deeper sense of relaxation and rejuvenation. Whether sought for relief from specific ailments or as a means of maintaining general health, therapeutic massage offers a valuable pathway to improved quality of life.

I have received training in various techniques to assist with managing pain cycles in the body, including Myofascial release, Acupressure, Cupping therapy, Reiki, and an understanding of the Endocannabinoid system and its impact on pain cycles. By integrating these methods, I can offer a uniquely tailored wellness experience for each individual guest.

Sometimes, after a therapeutic massage, you might experience some tenderness. However, incorporating cannabinoids into your wellness routine can enhance relaxation and reduce sensitivity after the treatment. If the tenderness continues, consider drinking water, taking a high dose of Omega-3, and enjoying a moderately warm salt bath with two cups of sea salt to balance magnesium levels.

Individuals who feel discomfort after a massage are often those who consume additional substances in their diet, such as alcohol, tobacco, or pharmaceuticals. This is why we review your medical history and confirm your health needs at each appointment.

I welcome you to the studio to try for yourself!
